The Small Business Resource Center has
developed the Local Contractor Development
Program (LCDP) to support the participation of
minority-owned and women-owned business
enterprises in all Baltimore City construction
projects and beyond! Baltimore City and the
LCDP are dedicated to helping MBE/WBEs
expand and grow their businesses through
educational opportunities, technical assistance,
resources, and networking events.
If you are a minority or women-owned business
enterprise in the construction industry, NOW is
the time to step it up and take full advantage of the
multi-million dollar contract opportunities with the
Department of Public Works (DPW) and the
Department of Transportation (DOT). DPW has
implemented the Wet Weather Program, which
will spend $900 million over a 14-year period to
upgrade its sewer system. In addition, DOT will
spend over $100 million in design and
construction projects for fiscal year 2007.
Baltimore City is committed to ensuring minority
and women enterprises participate in its procurement process to
the highest levels in the City’s history.

“Before I started working with The LCDP I was
receiving business assistance from companies that didn't
specialize in the construction industry. The LCDP exposed
me to specialist in the construction industry, and that
helped our company grow!"
